Valencia CF to face Real Oviedo again after 24 years
The last match against the 'Carbayón' side was on April 22, 2001, at the Carlos Tartiere
Following victory against Sevilla FC, Valencia CF are up into the Top 6 in LaLiga -just 3 points off fourth place. It's some going after they finished the first half of the season 10 points adrift, and a fact that Carlos Soler is pleased about.
"After the international break, it was important to come back with a win," he told VCF Media after the game. "Parejo's goal gave us confidence and, although they pressured us in the second half, we took 3 important points -as well as the goal average advantage over Sevilla. We're closer to the Champions League, which is what we all want."
"We suffered out there, but the most important thing is to win. We are in a very good dynamic and we are closer to the objective," Soler continued. "Sixteen games without a defeat is a lot, and we are conceding few goals. Now we have to focus on Wednesday's game at Mestalla."
"We were excited at the start of the season but things didn't work out. However, we got out of that situation together and have reached the Copa del Rey final and the quarter finals of the Europa League. We're going to fight hard in the 9 remaining LaLiga games this season."
